MEET CLAIRE

Bio Photo.jpg

Claire is a registered yoga teacher working primarily with the perinatal population. She is the founder of Nurture and Nourish Yoga - a yoga space dedicated to supporting connection and embodiment through the perinatal phase of life. Nurture and Nourish Yoga also offers immersive and comprehensive perinatal yoga education, for yoga teachers and birth workers.

Claire is a lifelong lover of learning about the human body, mind and spirit. She was trained in western medicine in the UK and specialized in anesthesiology and critical care medicine. During her clinical career she was introduced to mindfulness (MBSR) and it was here that the seeds were sown for her passion for sharing a mindful embodied practice. Since moving to the US in 2013 she has transitioned away from clinical medicine, and now works full-time sharing yoga, teaching and mentoring yoga teachers and supporting the non-profit mission of the Child Loss Center

In addition to her foundational yoga teacher trainings, Claire has taken further in-depth education to serve families through the fertility, prenatal and postnatal phases of life. These trainings include trauma-conscious yoga, pregnancy and postpartum corrective exercise and rehabilitation, yoga psychology, fertility yoga, Spinning Babies principles and techniques, Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) mobility specialist, pelvic health and perinatal loss and grief.

Claire brings an open curiosity to the practice - exploring and applying the evidence-base for movement, breath and mind techniques, at the same time as being open to the intangible unknowns of birth, our loving connections to our children and our own humanness.
